Hotel bedding – how to choose the best one?

Choosing the right hotel bedding, contrary to appearances, is not so easy. The market is now full of many types of fabrics and hoteliers are facing the problem of purchasing optimal bedding, which will not only satisfy guests, but also survive unchanged for many years. Because of many dilemmas regarding this piece of equipment, it is sometimes the case that hotel bedding becomes the subject of rent. Let’s not panic and try to meet the challenge. Considering some tips, we’ll definitely make the right choice.

Arrangement trends – guests are happy to come back to a stylish and fashionable hotel

The styling of a hotel room is of great importance for guests. While some people are looking for accommodation in historic places with tradition, others are happy to spend their free time in fashionable boutique hotels. Arrangement elements of hotel rooms, such as furniture, curtains, decorations and rugs are influenced by fashion. Hotel bedding, however, remains rather visually unchanged for years. The hotels are dominated by white bedding fabric and only about 20% of hoteliers decide to buy bedding of other colors. White bedding, however, can be very different from each other in the type of material, as well as the attractiveness of the weaves, i.e. the patterns of interlacing yarn in fabric. The bedding material should be thin, soft to the touch, breathable and ensuring a pleasant and restful sleep. It should also look aesthetically and elegantly. It is worth considering ordering hotel bedding to size. The most popular and practical in hotels is striped bedding. Such bedding is easy to supplement because of the abundance on the market. More demanding hoteliers are choosing niche designs such as diamonds, plaid and flowers. And all this to please their guests and make their stay in the hotel as comfortable and unforgettable as possible.

Why is white so popular?

The white color of hotel bedding is most desirable for several reasons. First, white bedding is the most versatile and practical. We can be sure that we will meet the taste of customers. White bedding is always associated with elegance, purity and freshness. On dark fabrics, you cannot always see all imperfections and dirt. Some hotel owners try to follow modern interior design trends by choosing to buy colored bedding. There are graphite or burgundy and even navy blue colors. Let’s not forget, however, that our guests often have high expectations of the hotel. While at home they are happy to sleep in colorful bedding, in the hotel they expect a high standard and an eye-catching confirmation of cleanliness, freshness and high hygiene. Secondly, hotel white bedding always fits perfectly with any interior design. It is therefore not visually risky in any way. Thirdly, due to its popularity, white bedding is very easy to replace with missing elements. Fourthly, high-quality white fabrics always look great after appropriate treatments. They are not concerned with the problem of color arguing or the fading of intense colors.

First of all, durability and resistance – the most important attributes of hotel bedding

Appropriate hotel bedding should meet quite stringent requirements due to the need to subject it to frequent, various treatments under the influence of chemicals and high temperature. Sometimes industrial washing takes place at temperatures up to 95ºC. Activities such as bleaching, preserving, ironing or disinfecting bedding require it to be sewn from extremely durable, resistant and easy to clean material. Mostly hotel bedding is made of material with a weight of 140-160 g / m2. Thanks to this, it maintains its appearance and size for many years. For practical reasons, bedding used in hotels should be free of buttons, zippers and contain only comfortable pleats. It is good that the seams are reinforced with special sewing threads that will not break during cleaning and maintenance procedures.

More cotton or less cotton? That is the question.

Not so long ago , 100% cotton bedding was the most popular . It was considered to be the most comfortable for the body and resistant to use, high temperature, whitening and other chemical treatments. However, due to the fact that pure cotton has a tendency to crease and pilling, it requires a lot of work, time, and thus also involves the use of more energy, water and detergents. Mainly for economic reasons, hoteliers began to pay close attention to cotton bedding with an admixture of polyester. It is important, however, that polyester does not constitute more than 20% of the fabric. Polyester fibers absorb less water and detergents in the washing process and thus reduce the overall operating costs of the hotel. Manufacturers of this type of bedding ensure that it is equally pleasant to use and additionally has antiallergic properties.
